Indian block printed cotton
Indian Wood Block Printing is a technique used for printing images, texts and patterns. It is widely used throughout East Asia. It is the process of printing patterns onto textiles by using carved wood blocks.
Block printing is known to have been used in India since at least the 12th century, although this method is thought to be around 2,000 years old. Indian artisans borrowed a technique from China, one theory states, and turned it into a culturally distinct art form.
The block printing is the magical blend of artistic craftsmanship and the patience and tenacity of the artisan. The hand-carved wooden block drenched in organic ink leave some unique and ethical design on the fabric. When the ink is properly embedded with the fabric, it does not fade with wash.
Block prints are done by eye, and telltale signs of the human hand, even imperfections, are part of the ineffable humanity and beauty of the craft.

The fact that she is able to import and have her own fabrics printed, made this step much easier. Karen now started an exclusive range of ladies sleepwear.
Cavalini is a clothing company based in Pretoria, South Africa. All our products are manufactured in South Africa and we support our local couriers, packaging suppliers and printers. The exquisite sleepwear is neatly packed in a white laundry bag which can be used for washing all your fine underwear.
This elegant sleepwear is accented with piping and fabric covered buttons.
